Memphis and its Necropolis

Hello, everyone. I am going to write about a World Heritage site today.

Today's place is Memphis and its Necropolis - the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur in Egypt. Of course, you know Pyramids and you have seen them in pictures or on TV at least once . I think that they are so mysterious, don't you think so? Memphis is the oldest city in Egypt's history, and there were Giza, Dahshur and Saqqara as the city of Death. Saqqara has the oldest pyramid in the world. Great Pyramid of Giza is the King Khufu’s pyramid, and it is the biggest pyramid in the world.

That is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and it is the only building which there is. Do you know about the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World? Have you heard once? The Seven Wonder of the Ancient World are Great Pyramid of Giza, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus as know the Mausoleum of Mausolus, Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. I didn’t know that, and I never heard that, too.However, it sounds wonderful, don’t you think so? I like to knowing like that, so I was excited when I read about them.

Anyway, I have told about Egypt’s pyramid. Next pyramid, Khafre’s Pyramid is the second biggest pyramid, but it was built higher place than Khufu’s one, so it looks the tallest one. And there is the biggest Sphinx near the Khafre’s pyramid like protect the pyramid. Sphinx is mythical creature, and you may see it once. Sphinx has the head of a human who like Egyptian, and the body is a lion. The last pyramid is the Menkaure’s Pyramid. The oldest pyramid of Saqqara is Pyramid of Djoser, and it looks stairs, so it is called Stairs Pyramid. Now, I wrote about Egypt and the Pyramid. I thought that there are lots of mystery in the Egypt, and I want to go there someday.

Mont Saint-Michel

Hello, everyone. I am going to write about Mont Saint-Michel which is one of the World Heritage.


Mont Saint- Michel is a religious house on the sea near French, and Mont Saint-Michel means a mountain of Saint Michael. There is one of the Catholic’s pilgrimage place, and there is called the wonder of Western. Mont Saint-Michel is on the sea, so people who want to visit there have to go at low water. However, human can’t know the move of the nature, so many people died with the sea water. People who lived at that time often said that if you go to Mont Saint-Michel, you should write your note.

The Archangel Michael appeared to Saint Aubert who was bishop at that time in 708, and asked him that to build a church on the island. Aubert ignored the revelation two times, and Michael made a hole in the Aubern’s forehead, because Aubern didn’t believe the revelations. It was a fortress during the Hundred Years War, and there are some artillery and cannonballs of British Armed Forces still now.
Mont Saint-Michel is one of the World Heritage I like, so I want to show you many picture. It’s very beautiful and solemnity.

Dolomiti

Hello, everyone. I introduce you to the World Heritage again.
 I’m going to write about Dolomiti, which is one of the biggest mountains in the world. Actually, it isn’t a mountain; it has many mountains, so what we call a mountain range. It’s in Italia, so it is called Monti Pallidi in Italian, which means the mountains blue and white. The highest mountain in them is the Marmolada which is the Costabella in Italian, and it’s 3342 m. Dolomiti has many mountains, peaks, passes, parks and rakes. A lot of people visit there every year. This area changes their view on summer and winter, so people can climb in summer, and of course can ski in winter. I put two pictures which are a summer version and a winter version on this blog, so you can imagine that what are people who visit there looking forward to doing. I want to visit there both in summer and in winter, because they are so beautiful. However, I will be not able to climb the mountains, but I want to see the view of the top of the mountains. Don’t you think?

Paris, Banks of the Seine

Good morning, everyone. I’m going to write about the World Heritages of French. French has a lot of World Heritages, and they are very beautiful. I use many pictures to tell you, because I don’t want you to miss them.
First, the Seine is a river which about 780 km in French. The Seine is the second longest river in French, and a lot of bridges across the river.
Second is the Eiffel Tower, which is one of the most famous things in French. The Eiffel Tower was built only 2 years and 2 months for an international exposition which was held in French, but nobody died. That’s amazing thing. The tower is loved by citizen of Paris still now.
Next is Triumphal arch. As you know, there are some arches in French. The Triumphal arch means that the celebration of military wins and the people who were bring the wins. Do you know that Japan has the triumphal arch, too? Of course, the scale is big, Japan has a smaller than French.
  Last is the Louvre Museum. I think that everybody have heard once at least the museum name. Musee du Louvre in French, but I can’t understand what the place. The museum is one of the largest museums, and one of the oldest museums in Europe. The pyramid of glass which was designed by Ieoh Ming Pei is the famous point of tour. French has more beautiful place and things, so I want to go there someday. I want to talk to people in French, but I can’t speak French. I have to study for my dream.

Tasmanian Wilderness

Hello, everyone. I'm going to write about Tasmanian Wilderness which is one of the World Heritage.

Have you ever heard Tasmanian Wilderness? Tasmanian Wilderness, which is a part of Australia, has a lot of green and many animals live in there. The most famous animal is Tasmanian Devil, which was harmful animals in the past, but they are protected by people in the world now. Right picture is the Tasmanian Devils. They look like a kitten or a big mouse. They are called devil, because animals which hunted by them raised a death cry and their voice like a devil. People afraid of the voice, so they called it Tasmanian Devil. Tasmanian Wilderness has many beautiful places, and a lot of people visit there. I want to go there, because there are many places which I never seen. I think that there are so beautiful in the picture, so more beautiful if I can see my eyes. If I can touch the animals, I want to touch them. I think that it is important for the world to protect nature like Tasmanian Wilderness and Galapagos islands. I want everyone to know about how wonderful they are, and I don’t want to poach animals. They are weaker than us, so we have to protect them for the world’s future. Nature is declining little by little, because human don’t think about our future. We can’t live without nature, but we can’t see only immediate profits. Of course, I feel inconvenience if we couldn’t use car or electric lights. I think that they are great inventions, but we can live less than now. We can live ecology. If we don’t try to protect nature, we will die in the future not so long. I recommend you to have more interested in our planet.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Hello, everyone. I am going to write about Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park which is one of the World Heritage.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is one of the National Parks in Australia. It is called Ayers Rock, but it is called only Uluru. Kata Tjuta is called Mount Olga in English. There are 36 big rocks which is called The Olgas. Kata Tjuta means 36 heads in Aborigine’s language. People who are called Aborigine live in there, and they called it Saint Uluru. Ayers Rock was created by erosion of seawater for 6 million years. I think that it can't make by human. How wonderful!! I want to visit there someday. People have to charge money to go to there, and the money supported to Aborigine. That’s good idea, don’t you think? There were some tragedy in history of Aborigine, but they didn’t give up living in there. I want people to take care of people of Aborigine.

Angkor Wat

Hello, everyone. I am going to introduce a UNESCO World Heritage Site from today, because I’m interested in it very much. There are so many beautiful places in the world, but I can see all of them, so I think that it is very good for everyone to see the World Heritage.

I am going to write about Angkor Wat today. Angkor Wat is the largest Hindu temple complex in the world in Cambodia. Everyone have heard once, because it is very famous temple. Maybe it is watched in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider which is a movie released in 2001. Angkor Wat was built by King Suryavarman Ⅱfor 30 years, and it is national flag of Cambodia. Angkor means a city of King in Sanskrit, and Wat means a temple in Khmer. Angkor Wat was broken by Khmer Rouge which was Communist Party of Cambodia while the Cambodian Civil War, and it was told by Japanese craftsmen that how to repair to the broken things, and that was showed Project X in Japan. I think that it is told me to how great Japanese tradition, and I feel that should be known all over the world. There are a lot of priests, and they pray every day. Many people come to sightseeing, and they always makes move by the beautiful views. I want to visit there someday. I recommend you to visit Angkor Wat.
