The 1st episode of a foreign drama

Hello, everyone. I wrote a essay about the 1st episode of a foreign drama, which was a homework of Writing Class. Now, I'm going to introduce you. I'm glad to reading, and if you want to watch this.

I’m going to tell you about Lie to Me which is a American drama subtitled “lies always tell the truth”. It’s kind of crime drama, so audiences can watch and know many kinds of crimes. I decided to write about this drama because I have watched this drama on FOX channel. Most people lie to someone every day, but we can’t know what is the lie. However, Dr. Cal Lightman, who is a main character of this drama, can read people’s true feelings and intentions from body language or expression of their face. When I was watching it, I was really surprised at his skills and ability, and I thought that he is a genius!! Also, I was surprised that many famous people like some Presidents of the U.S. and singers, actors, politicians lied to the world. If I didn’t know the behaviors that tell me these are lies, I would believe them, and I would never doubt them. The 1st episode’s subtitle is Pilot, and it’s a man who can see falsehoods in Japanese. The story is about whether a false charge of a boy and a member of the House of Representatives’ scandal is true or not true. First, one day, a school teacher was killed by someone, and a boy was caught at her home then. The boy leaves no room for doubt that he is a criminal until Dr. Cal Lightman met him, but Dr. Cal had a different opinion, so Dr. Cal and his team investigated the case. He found out incongruities, and they connected them all at the end. I was really fascinated the great plot of the story, and his partner, Gillian Foster, who is a sociable person and who always helps Dr. Cal, I felt that I want to be like her.

  Dr. Cal Lightman has a model. Paul Ekman is an actual person, and he is one of the most famous psychologists in the world. Is he able to read the people’s lie? If I want to be a detective or a research worker of psychology, the talent is a great gift to have. However, it may become the source of distress because I will know everything include things I don’t want to know. Paul Ekman is a great psychologist, but I want to know his normal life. The drama, Lie to Me is really interesting, so I recommend you watch this.

Self Introduce

Good morning, everyone.  This is my essay about myself after 20 years from now, so most story of this is not true.

  Hello, everyone. My name is Asuka. I am going to introduce myself to you.
I’m 40 years old, so I graduated from Kumamoto Gakuen University 18 years ago. I enjoyed my school life there, and I want to meet friends from university sometimes. However, it is not easy to meet friends, because we have a job and children. I want to know about their lives.
   I got married to an office worker, and it was an arranged marriage. He is very kind and interesting, so I love him. We have three children, and I love them, too.
   The eldest boy is 15 years old, and he is a high school student. He wants to be a baseball player, so he doesn’t miss his everyday training. I always get up early, and I make him two packed lunches and two rice balls. I hope that he doesn’t have any injuries.
    Our second son is 13 years old, and he is a junior high school student. He likes reading books and watching stars, so he always has a star chart. I like to listen to his story of the stars. He wants to be an astronomer, and learn astronomy in the U.S.
   The youngest girl is 11 years old, and she is an elementary school student. The two brothers love her, so they go to school together. She doesn’t know what she wants to be, but I think that she doesn’t need to hurry. If she has a dream, I will support her dream with my family.
   I have a job, because my children don’t need a lot of looking after. I think that money is important to live, and I have to save money for my children. We are not young forever, so we have a lot of things to do until we can. My job is teaching English to children which are 6 to 12 years old. I like this job, because my student are very good children and they like to learn English. I want to teach English until I become 60 years.
  There are a lot of things which makes me happy and sad in my life. Life is not easy, but I have a really happy life now. I have lots of precious memories, and they will increase from now. I want to live until I see my grandchildren, and I hope that my family can live a long life.

The Best Day of My Life

I am going to tell you about the best day of my life. I went to Okinawa with my family when I was 15 years old. My father was a member of the Ground Self-Defense Forces, and my family had lived in Okinawa 16 years ago. I was born in Okinawa, and I lived in there for 3 years. I had never gone to Okinawa since then, so I when I went to Okinawa, it was after a long time. My parents knew a lot of informations about Okinawa, and they have a lot of friends there even now.

We went to around the city, and we saw the hospital where I was born. My parents told us lots of stories from those days. I was glad to hear to the stories. We went to a lot of sightseeing spots, too. When I went to an aquarium, I watched moving sights. The aquarium is one of the most famous aquariums in Japan, and it is called Churaumi. Chura is from the Okinawa dialect, and it means beautiful in English. Umi means sea in English, so Churaumi means beautiful sea in English. I think it is a good name. Also, we went to a memorial hall of the Second World War. There were lots of people, and everyone looked sad. There were letters to mothers which were written by members of the special attack corps called kamikaze in English. I felt that it is too sad for mothers and boys, and I thought we must not forget that they were living.

Okinawa has many beautiful beaches, and I like to see them. I was seeing the beaches while our trip. There were some people who were playing in the sea, and I really envied that. I thought that times go slowly in Okinawa, so I could enjoy my trip. I want to go to Okinawa with my family again.　This is the best day of my life.

My Hometown

I’m going to tell you about my home town, Mifune. Mifune is the in countryside, so there is a lot of green. Maybe you don’t know that they had excavated a fossil of a dinosaur there. That means a dinosaur lived in Mifune. The dinosaur is called Mifune Ryu, and Mifune is called the town of the dinosaur. People who live in Mifune have an opportunity to learn about Mifune Ryu. I learned about it when I was an elementary school student to when I was a junior high school student, and I made a replica of the fossil in class.

 Mifune has a summer festival in the end of summer vacation. There are always a lot of street stalls, and people who wear a happi coat dance the Bon festival dance and there is a fireworks display in the night. The Bon festival dance is the original Bon dance of Mifune, and called Mifune Ondo. I have joined the Bon festival dance with my classmates when I was elementary school student, and I can dance it still now.


All of the schools in Mifune teach how to dance Mifune Ondo, so I had to dance it at my school’s sports festival. There is a popular tradition in Mifune about a kappa. Do you know what a kappa is? It is a water imp. There is a tradition that there is a kappa in Mifune’s river, but I never seen a kappa still now.


I graduated from Mifune high school in my home town. I will introduce my alma mater. There is a course to study election machines, and students of this course learn all about machines. Some students are members of a robot control club, and this club has great technical skill to control robots, and is the top in Japan. They have become the champion any number of times. A principal of my school had often said that if any powerful school from anywhere in the country challenges our school, we don’t need to hurry. We can win and we can be stronger. It is too much to say that, but they are really great.


 My home town is important for me, and I want to know a lot of people. Why don’t you come to my home town?

My Treasures

This is my essay about my treasures.If you have a time, please read it.

         

      My treasures are my family, friends, home and school and so on. I have a lot of treasures, and my treasures will increase from now on. I am going to write about my treasures that you may not know.

              My photo album is one of my treasures. I like to take pictures, so I often took pictures when I was a high school student. When I see the pictures, I can remember a memory and a story of that time. For example, there is a picture that three girls smiling tearfully, holding hands. I took this picture at our graduation ceremony and the girls are still my friends even now. They were on the verge of tears when after the ceremony, and a friend of three girls said to us. “I don’t want to say good-bye.” When I heard it, I thought we really graduated. I can’t go back those days, but I can remember it as a good memory.

              Also, my dogs are one of my treasures. They came to my home from my older sister’s friend house when they were puppies. They were very cute, and small. I thought they look like a stuffed toy dogs, because they didn’t move. When we took a walk with my dogs, they didn’t walk at all, so my sisters carried them in her arms. Of course, they were not heavy at that time, so we can go back our home while still carrying them. However, if I take a walk and carry them now, I couldn’t come back within a day. They have become big and always want to run all the way, but they enjoy taking a walk every time. I hope that they live a long life.

              That is story about my treasures. I am going to keep my treasure all the time.

Have you ever been to Kumamoto? If you could come to Kumamoto, I want to guide you. How many people are there in your family? We are a family of six, and we have two dogs and eleven goldfish. I have two older sisters and a younger sister, so we are four sisters. How many brothers and sisters do you have? Please tell me about things that are popular among young people. Recently Kumamon, which is a bear, and a character of Kumamoto is popular in Japan. I like Kumamon, but I like Stitch better than Kumamon. I like Stitch, so my favorite color is blue. My favorite food is hot and spicy food, I like a one-pot dish cooked at the table in particular, what is the best food in your country? Do you eat something hot and spicy? How about the climate in your country? I hope there is a warm climate there, because I’m sensitive to the cold.
